For many years, sustainable development has been one of Manufacture CLUIZEL's strategic priorities.
It has set itself 3 objectives:

PEOPLE FIRST
Manufacture CLUIZEL is no stranger to the importance of locality: since its construction in 1972, its premises in Damville, Normandy, have been home to 180 employees, many of whom are local residents. Although this proudly local company does not manage according to quotas, it has nonetheless succeeded in satisfying its desire for exemplary parity within its teams.
AN ETHICAL ECONOMY
CLUIZEL is above all a 4-generation family business, proud of its origins and loyal to the land of its birth. Today, the Manufacture is the leading company in a rural canton, which it respects and helps to develop.
If CLUIZEL is committed to local employment, it is also committed to local taxation.
and pays all its taxes in France. This human ethic also governs its relations with all its partners, in Normandy as elsewhere: since 1999, the cocoa planters who supply it are also its partners, with whom it respects several commitments. Child labor has always been banned on all plantations.
FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
In 2012, La Manufacture built its own biological wastewater treatment plant (reed filtration), the first of its kind in the French food industry. Its water feeds a pond created by the Manufacture and populated by fish and batrachians. With a view to reducing its ecological footprint, the Manufacture has also decided to recycle its waste. The shells of its cocoa beans, the only agricultural waste produced, are now recycled at 100%: 80% in the form of natural agricultural fertilizer, 10% in infusions and 10% in animal feed supplements.

Recycling has become a global issue. Without proper collection and recycling, plastics affect our environment and have a lasting impact on ecosystems. CLUIZEL is committed to offering recyclable packaging that respects the environment. In this way, the Manufacture contributes to the successful implementation of a circular plastics economy.
